Our vision expresses the basics of who we are, how we do things, and where we are going. Purposes, assumptions, philosophy, values, priorities and practices all combine to formulate our vision. Understanding these aspects of our vision is important for effective growth and full release of ministry in the church.
Our purpose is the fundamental aim from which all of the church's activities and goals are derived. Like the foundation of a building, the church's purpose is the underlying support upon which everything else is built. As the body of Christ, we, together with believers throughout the world, are to continue the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, which He proclaimed in Luke 4:18-19: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed to proclaim, the year of the Lord." Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to loving and serving God and others, and proclaiming the gospel to all people We plan to do this, by the grace of God, in the following way... By seeking to be God-centered in all we do By living in the goodness of God’s amazing grace each day By finding our direction in God’s Word (and its prayerful application in our lives) By earnestly desiring and actively pursuing the ministry of the Holy Spirit By determining to work to develop honest and deepening relationships as we follow Christ together as a local church By faithfully communicating the gospel to others Loving, Serving, Proclaiming |
