Our vision expresses the basics of who we are, how we do things, and where we are going. Purposes, assumptions, philosophy, values, priorities and practices all combine to formulate our vision. Understanding these aspects of our vision is important for effective growth and full release of ministry in the church.
Our purpose is the fundamental aim from which all of the church's activities and goals are derived. Like the foundation of a building, the church's purpose is the underlying support upon which everything else is built. As the body of Christ, we, together with believers throughout the world, are to continue the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, which He proclaimed in Luke 4:18-19: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed to proclaim, the year of the Lord." Here at Living Way Church we feel specifically called to glorify God by equipping His people to "change their world." We plan to do this by the grace of God in the following ways:
